The weekend’s best deals: A bunch of Apple devices, Sony headphones, 4K TVs, and more

The author's best deals: A bundle of Apple devices, Sony headphones, 4K TVs, and more

Technique

It’s the weekend, and that’s the time of the week to do the best. As we anticipated, each weekend (and every spring day) in November brings with it a new round of popular, big-ticket discounts, typically at the lowest prices of the year. Today that includes headphones from Sony, Beats, Jabra, and a great deal on the refurbished AirPods Max.

Sony has two great offers in its latest-generation noise-canceling headphones. The frustratingly named but high-quality WH-1000XM5 ($348, $400) and WH-1000XM4 ($228, $348) Aeneas as a match for the lowest prices we have ever searched for. Since Sony released the latest WH-1000XM5, it continues to sell the WH-1000XM4 generation along with it. When we tested the 5 versus the 4, we found it to be a slight improvement on every aspect of the previous gen headphones. They are better phones, a little lighter, and can charge faster. They also replace the song, as in 4. They are not what we call paradigm-shifting mobiles, but for the most part better than average. Selling for over $100 less than its current price, the WH-1000XM4 remains highly regarded, with decent, noise-cancelling features that we couldn’t blame you for picking up instead of the newer WH-1000XM5.

Apple’s AirPods Max are our favorite noise-singing brand, though. And if you are comfortable buying refurbished, now at a discount for $355 ($475) from Woot, shaving a couple of hundred dollars off the MSRP. Woot’s website asserts that these headphones have no visual scratches or dents and come with a Woot 90-day warranty.

Elsewhere around the web, we have the first cash discount on the Google Pixel 7 Pro, $300 off the well-priced 14-inch M1 MacBook Pro ($1,599, $1,900) a bunch of iPads, 4K TVs from LG and Sony, and much more. Check out the full curated list below.
